Golf tournament this weekend aims to raise funds/awareness for prostate cancer research.

From Collingwood Today

On June 22, 2019, the Lads and Dads Golf Tournament will tee off on their 12th year in support prostate cancer.

The founder of this event, Bob Lank, is hoping for continued and new support for this important cause. As a prostate cancer survivor himself, Bob is driven to encourage lads and dads, uncles and granddads, friends, neighbours, and all guys to join a fun golf tournament.

Non-golfers, can also contribute to Prostate Cancer Canada, at in support of this annual Collingwood event.

The golf tournament will take place at Duntroon Highlands Golf Club. It serves up a country course with a hearty welcome. Golfers compete with great camaraderie, some skewed scoring and abundant laughter. There are fun prizes for special accomplishments, plentiful food available and great flare for “fashion” awards in the name of Bob’s late wife, Judy Lank.

For the first time (Augusta took 80 years), women are invited to support this cause, too. As wives, moms, sisters, aunts and cousins, the female population are all touched by prostate cancer, too.

Prostate Cancer Canada is on the global stage of research and awareness for a disease that affects 1 in 7 men, and kills 4000 men every year in Canada.

Please check out this link ( to join the tournament or to make a donation for a cause, very worthy of your consideration.

This annual Collingwood event is something for our Collingwood community to be proud of and to support with enthusiasm and generosity.

James Baldwin said, “not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

Let’s face prostate cancer and be part of making a difference. It affects us all, men and women.
